If you thought the battle between the Braves and the Reds was over just because their Wild Card Series ended (with the Braves winning in a two-game sweep), you'd be wrong, my friend. If anything, it's just getting started. And naturally, Trevor Bauer, who has never seen an online argument he doesn't want to be a part of, is in the middle of it.
It started in Game 1 of the series as Bauer pantomimed the Chop that Braves fans do after he was lifted following 7 2/3 shutout innings.
The next day, when Marcell Ozuna hit a massive two-run home run that for all intents and purposes ended the Reds season, he posed for a selfie as he started his trot.
After the game, Ronald Acuña Jr. posted a tweet featuring Bauer's favorite Conor McGregor-inspired celebration with the text "Goooo homeeeee."
Bauer couldn't sit back and simply take the subtweet. So, since he's got a lot of free time on his hands these days, he fired back with an edited video showing him striking out Acuña before launching into a clip from "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."
Now, you could say that, sure, Bauer won that battle, but Acuña and the Braves won the war. After all, they defeated the Reds, who failed to score a single run in 22 innings. That may explain why Acuña had no problem offering a peace offering:
Hahahahahhahahhaa you funny bro 😂😂

As for what will happen if they face each other next season? We'll have to wait and see.
