Royals announce start times for home games

Schedule includes five weekday afternoon matchups

KANSAS CITY -- The Royals will open the season with a 3:10 p.m. CT start against the Twins at Target Field on Monday, April 3, the club announced Thursday.
The Royals released their starting times for regular-season games, including a 3:15 p.m. start for the Monday, April 10 home opener vs. Oakland at Kauffman Stadium.

Along with the home opener, Kansas City will host four other weekday afternoon contests: Thursday, May 4 vs. the White Sox; Wednesday, June 21 vs. the Red Sox; Thursday, Aug. 24 vs. the Rockies and Wednesday, Sept. 13 vs. the White Sox. All four will start at 1:15 p.m.
Saturday home games will predominantly feature 6:15 p.m. start times, with exceptions being on May 6 vs. the Indians (3:15 p.m.); June 3 vs. the Indians (1:15 p.m.), June 24 vs. the Blue Jays (1:15 p.m.) and July 1 vs. the Twins (1:15 p.m.). All Sunday home games are slated for 1:15 p.m., except for the regular-season finale (Oct. 1) vs. the D-backs, which will begin at 2:15 p.m.
