Royals' All-Star catcher says injury isn't serious

DETROIT -- Royals All-Star catcher left Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park in the fifth inning and was replaced by .
The Royals announced that Perez had suffered right rib-cage tightness and that he was removed for precautionary reasons.
Perez said after the game the injury wasn't serious.
"I'll be good," he said. "I think I can catch tomorrow."
Perez had singled in the top of the fourth inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice fly by Mike Moustakas that scored . Perez then caught the fourth inning before being replaced to start the bottom of the fifth.
Perez said he felt the tightness during the at-bat.
"It's the same thing I've had earlier this season, just on the other side," he said.
