SAN FRANCISCO -- Injuries suffered Saturday by Scott Van Slyke and Chris Hatcher appear to be minor, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday.
Van Slyke, removed in the third inning with lower back stiffness, was available to pinch-hit Sunday and is not expected to be placed on the disabled list, said Roberts, who has already lost left fielders Andre Ethier (broken leg) and Carl Crawford (lower back pain).
Van Slyke was replaced in Sunday's lineup in left field by Trayce Thompson, so with Monday's scheduled off-day, Van Slyke will get two days off.
"I got complete assurance, based on the way he feels, there's no reason for the DL," said Roberts. "With guys we've lost already, we can't afford to lose him."

Hatcher twisted his left knee on the muddy mound during the ninth inning of Saturday's rain-soaked win, but he remained in the game and struck out the side to earn the victory. Hatcher said he was good to go Sunday, although Roberts noted the reliever had pitched the two previous games (including 28 pitches Saturday) and would be limited to no more than one or two batters Sunday.
Meanwhile, Roberts said the rehab assignments for catcher Yasmani Grandal and infielder Howie Kendrick continue without a setback and both are expected to be activated for Tuesday's home opener against Arizona.
Micah Johnson is likely to return to Triple-A Oklahoma City to make room for Kendrick, but Roberts said the club is considering keeping Austin Barnes as a third catcher even after Grandal returns. Who would make room for Grandal in that scenario isn't clear.
"After today's game we'll get together as a group and figure out what's in the best interests for the team on Tuesday and carrying forward," Roberts said before Sunday's series finale with the Giants. "Carrying three catchers is something to consider."
