Shohei wasn't the only member of his family to get an award at BBWAA dinner

took home National League Most Valuable Player honors at the BBWAA Awards Dinner on Saturday night. But what's the big deal? He's won four MVP awards already.

The bigger story, at least in the canine world, was the baseball writers handing out the first MVD -- Most Valuable Dog. It was given to Shohei's dog, Decoy Ohtani. Word is he's one of the best two-way dogs on the planet with elite fetch and roll-over skills.

A dog owned by Ohtani, who signed a 10-year, $700 million contract with the Dodgers in December 2023, is valuable by default. But since we've gotten to know Decoy through red carpet appearances, a first pitch at Dodger Stadium and his dad's custom cleats, we know that this good boy earned the first MVD on his own adorable merit.
