Sure, Shohei Ohtani is the modern Babe Ruth. But he's also a certified babe. The baseball unicorn was one of three MLB stars on People Magazine's 2023 list of the Sexiest Men in Sports, released on Wednesday. 

Joining Ohtani were former Dodgers teammates Mookie Betts and Cody Bellinger. Ohtani was ranked No. 15 on the star-studded list of 21 sports studs, just ahead of Betts and Bellinger at 16 and 17, respectively.

Ohtani certainly helped his cause last year with a fashion Sho for GQ, which featured him on the cover in a cutoff sweater-vest. Other photos inside the issue showed him in the locker room lifting weights and doing pushups. Betts was also profiled in GQ in 2021.

The trio of Ohtani, Betts and Bellinger still have something to aspire to, though. Last year, Yankees slugger Aaron Judge was named one of People's Sexiest Men Alive, on a list with the likes of George Clooney, The Rock and Chris Evans.

It's hard to argue with No. 1 on People's 2023 list of athletes, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, whose budding romance with pop megastar Taylor Swift has captured the attention of the sports world. Kelce was in the stands for a Phillies home playoff game last month with his brother Jason, an Eagles offensive lineman who came in at No. 2 on this list, and he was spotted on the jumbotron at Game 1 of the World Series in Arlington.

Maybe Travis will do some scouting of the competition for the 2024 Sexiest Men in Sports list in the stands of ... whichever ballpark Shohei is playing in next year.
