Street closures

October 26th, 2018

Today, crews will begin relocating underground public works and utility infrastructure in preparation for the renovation and expansion of Wrigley Field.
Beginning Friday, Sept. 26, Waveland and Sheffield avenues will be closed to vehicle traffic. Pedestrian traffic will be allowed on sidewalks along the north side of Waveland and the east side of Sheffield. While we hope to minimize impact on the community, it is necessary to close these streets in the initial phase to accommodate the demolition of the Wrigley Field bleachers and subsequent reconstruction. These street closures will remain in effect until construction on this portion of the ballpark concludes.
The team is working with Alderman Tunney's office and the Chicago Department of Transportation to accommodate traffic on Clifton, Kenmore and Seminary avenues. There were signs posted recently that indicate no parking on Kenmore, however our talks with CDOT do not include any plans to strip parking on any of the residential streets along Waveland (Clifton Ave., Seminary Ave., Kenmore Ave). More information on this will be provided shortly.
