The Texas Rangers Youth Academy hosted a Women in Sports panel for middle and high school-aged athletes on Feb. 2, bringing together athletes, their families and Rangers employees for a conversation centered on career pathways in the sporting industry in celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

Panelists Rachel Vlacho (Staff Accountant), Delia Willms (Director, Suites & Premium Services), Lauren Cannon (Partnership Activation) and Hannah Wing (Infulencer Marketing) shared insights into their professional journeys, including the transition from internships to full time roles and their day-to-day responsibilities within the organization.

Throughout the discussion, panelists emphasized the value of mentorship, advocating for the importance of creating opportunities and setting future generations up for even greater success.

The event provided athletes with the opportunity to look beyond their current roles in sport and explore potential future career paths.

As the Academy celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the organization extends its gratitude to the women who support, mentor and invest in the development of the next generation.

USA Baseball Community Coach Clinic heads to the Youth Academy

  • What it is: The USA Baseball Community Coach Clinic is an integral part of continuing education for coaches at any level. The clinic on Feb. 7 will be held at the Rangers Youth Academy and provide coaches with the opportunity to learn and grow through networking and participating in on-field demonstrations.
  • Who is participating: Saturday’s clinic is open to coaches at any level of the game. Registration is available at usabdevelops.com/events.

Academy players to play in Dallas I.S.D. Black History Month Showcase at Globe Life Field

  • What it is: Five Tool Baseball is set to host the Dallas Independent School District Black History Month Showcase at Globe Life Field on Feb. 8. The invite-only showcase will feature select Academy players and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their skills to college scouts.
  • How it is run: Participants will start the day with a skills showcase before competing in an All-Star Game. Event content will be distributed through Five Tool channels and shared with college scouts following the showcase.
