The Texas Rangers Youth Academy hosted the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Clinic presented by Coca-Cola on Jan. 19, providing free training designed to help Academy athletes prepare for their upcoming high school seasons while honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
More than 50 Academy athletes participated in the clinic, rotating through instructional stations focused on hitting, fielding and agility, plus a question and answer station with Ranger players and alumni.
Rangers shortstop Corey Seager served as a special guest for the event, working alongside Youth Academy staff and offering guidance to participants. Seager was joined by catching coach Brett Hayes, as well as Rangers alumni Jerry Browne and Ellis Velentine, who assisted with on-field instruction and mentorship.
All participants received a commemorative clinic shirt, a case of Powerade and the chance to take a photo with Seager at the conclusion of the clinic.

- What it is: The Texas Rangers Youth Academy will host the Softball Winter Classic presented by Higginbotham from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1. The event is designed to help Academy athletes prepare for their upcoming high school seasons and provide evaluation touchpoints for upcoming special events and opportunities.
- Who is participating: The Winter Classic will feature a four-team tournament composed of Academy athletes. Rosters were selected based on participation in previous Academy programming.
Texas Rangers Youth Academy to host panel for National Girls and Women in Sports Day

- What it is: In recognition of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the Texas Rangers Youth Academy will host a Women in Sports Panel for high school-aged athletes on Monday, Feb. 2.
- Why it matters: The panel will highlight career paths across professional sports and provide athletes with the opportunity to hear directly from women working in a variety of roles within the Texas Rangers organization.
- Panelists include: Rachel Valcho, Staff Accountant; Delia Willms, Director, Suites & Premium Services; Lauren Cannon, Partnership Activation; and Hannah Wing, In-Game Host.
