The "Tarps Off" craze continues to take the baseball world by storm. What started as a fun one-off moment at a Royals-Cardinals game in May has spread around the league to seemingly become a staple at nearly every stadium. And the craze seems likely to grow as temperatures rise this summer.
That possibility and more are discussed in the latest episode of "This Week in Baseball," out now on MLB's X account, at MLB.com and on MLB.TV.
The show, hosted by Kait Maniscalco, continues the revival of the classic series that debuted in 1977 as a 30-minute show and ran for most of the next three-plus decades to give baseball fans a dose of highlights and fun stories.
The new short-form version continues in that spirit, showcasing the biggest plays and storylines from the week, along with bloopers, the iconic TWIB Notes and more.
Along with the look at the "Tarps Off" trend, this week's episode discusses tough All-Star voting decisions, a Brewers-A's slugfest in Las Vegas, Jacob Misiorowski's history-making fastball and more. There's also a new feature -- "Road TWIB" -- that makes its first stop at Yankee Stadium.
Developed by MLB Studios and produced in partnership with MLB Network, new episodes of "This Week in Baseball" drop Fridays at noon ET on MLB's X account and are available the next day at MLB.com and on MLB.TV.
