Who will earn the title of baseball's best left fielder? Baseball's best second baseman? Baseball's best starting pitcher?
Get ready for all the drama and debate that goes with those questions. MLB Network's "Top 10 Right Now!" series is back.
Now in its eighth season, "Top 10 Right Now!" uses a mixture of Statcast™ data, traditional numbers and expert analysis to rank Major League Baseball's top players at each position. The fun returns Saturday with "Top 10 Shortstops Right Now!" at 9 p.m. ET and "Top 10 Third Basemen Right Now!" at 10 p.m.
Hosted by Brian Kenny, the show will count down the sport's best right fielders and second basemen on Jan. 20, left fielders and catchers on Jan. 27, first basemen and starting pitchers on Feb. 3 and conclude by counting down relief pitchers and center fielders Feb. 10.
The series will feature analysis from MLB Network on-air personalities and former Major Leaguers Eric Byrnes, Cliff Floyd, Mike Lowell, Dan Plesac, Harold Reynolds, Hall of Famer John Smoltz, Jim Thome, Dave Valle and Preston Wilson, plus roundtable discussions with Kenny, president of SABR Vince Gennaro, The Ringer's Ben Lindbergh and MLB.com analyst Mike Petriello.
For the second consecutive year, fans can get in on the action by submitting a top 10 list for each position. Votes can be cast on MLB Network's social platforms using #Top10RightNow. All #Top10RightNow votes will be incorporated into an overall fan-generated "Top 10 Right Now!" list in each episode.
