CHICAGO -- Tristan Peters left Friday’s game against the Tigers in the top of the fifth inning after injuring himself while trying to haul in Kevin McGonigle’s bases-clearing triple. The White Sox have yet to announce an official injury diagnosis.
Peters gave chase but couldn’t get to the ball, running full force into one of the support posts on the right-center-field fence, with his right shoulder making direct contact. Peters laid down on the warning track for a minute or two before leaving with head athletic trainer James Kruk out of the center-field gate, seemingly favoring his right shoulder.
It has been a breakout 2026 season for the rookie outfielder, hitting for the cycle, being named an All-Star and homering in five straight games to tie a franchise record. He was replaced by Braden Montgomery after the injury.
