Ervin comes in 7th in AL Cy Young Award vote

Twins ace finished seventh in the 2017 American League Cy Young Award voting, as announced on MLB Network on Wednesday night.
The right-hander received three fifth-place votes from the Baseball Writers' Association of America, placing him behind AL Cy Young Award winner , Chris Sale, , , and . Santana produced a 16-8 record with a 3.28 ERA over 33 starts and 211 1/3 innings in 2017.

Santana fanned 167 and walked 61, allowing 177 hits and 31 home runs. He tied Kluber for the AL's No. 1 spot with three shutouts and five complete games, earning All-Star honors for the second time in his 13-year-career. Santana's 4.6 bWAR ranked him seventh among AL pitchers, a category topped by Kluber at 8.0.
Santana's previous highest finish in voting for the AL Cy Young Award came in '08 while with the Angels, when he tied with Mike Mussina for sixth in a year when Cleveland's Cliff Lee won.
Santana's seventh-place finish comes the day after Minnesota's Paul Molitor was named AL Manager of the Year.
