Miranda among 5 players to become free agents amid Twins' moves

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins began reshaping their roster on Thursday with a series of moves.

The club outrighted five players off of the 40-man roster, including former starting infielder , making them all free agents. Along with Miranda, pitchers , , Génesis Cabrera and were outrighted, while reliever was claimed off of waivers by the Angels.

Along with those moves, the Twins reinstated outfielder from the 60-day injured list. He is expected to be a full go for Spring Training.

With the moves, Minnesota now stands at 33 players on its 40-man roster. The Twins have several prospects, including No. 5 Kendry Rojas, No. 8 Gabriel Gonzalez, and No. 9 Connor Prielipp, who must be added to the 40-man by Nov. 18 or the club risks losing them in the Rule 5 Draft.

Additionally, the Twins declined their $2 million 2026 contract option on reliever . However, Topa remains under team control and is not eligible for free agency, so his salary will be determined via the arbitration process.
