Yankees' April 2018 games to start earlier

NEW YORK -- The Yankees have announced a trial initiative for the 2018 season in which all Monday-Thursday evening home games in April will begin at 6:35 p.m. ET instead of the usual 7:05 p.m. start time.

The team said that the change is part of an effort to better accommodate the varying needs of the fans, continuing ongoing efforts to improve the fan experience for every guest at Yankee Stadium.

The following seven games will be affected by the earlier start time:

Thursday, April 5 vs. Baltimore
Monday, April 16 vs. Miami
Tuesday, April 17 vs. Miami
Thursday, April 19 vs. Toronto
Monday, April 23 vs. Minnesota
Tuesday, April 24 vs. Minnesota
Wednesday, April 25 vs. Minnesota

Since 2016, all Yankees Spring Training evening games at Steinbrenner Field have had a 6:35 p.m. ET start time.
