NEW YORK -- Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran continue to receive strong consideration to represent the Yankees at this summer's All-Star Game, with both players again appearing on the second balloting update released on Tuesday by Major League Baseball.
McCann has tallied 376,605 votes, placing him third among American League catchers behind the Royals' Salvador Perez (1,605,922) and the Orioles' Matt Wieters (453,237). Beltran, whose three-run homer on Monday was the Yankees' first since April 7, has received 298,041 votes to place 11th among AL outfielders.
A seven-time All-Star in the National League during his time with the Braves, McCann is hoping for his first selection to the AL squad. The 32-year-old entered play on Tuesday batting .222 with eight home runs and 22 RBIs in 47 games.
Beltran, 39, has been among the most consistent performers in the Yankees' lineup, entering play on Tuesday batting .272 with 14 home runs and 36 RBIs in 56 games. An eight-time All-Star, Beltran has never represented the AL in the Midsummer Classic, earning previous selections with the Astros, Mets and Cardinals.
