Northern California artists are encouraged to submit their artwork for consideration at: NBCSportsBayArea.com/BattleOfTheBayArt. Submission dates: Today to July 9
The Battle of the Bay Art Show will take place adjacent to Oracle Park’s Giants Vault (located inside the Lefty O’Doul Gate) and at the Oakland Coliseum’s Championship Plaza. The exhibit is accessible to all fans inside the ballpark. To purchase game tickets for August 13-14 at Oracle Park click HERE, for August 24-25 game tickets at the Oakland Coliseum, click HERE. Admission to the art show is free with the purchase of a ticket to the game.
The Battle of the Bay Art Show will feature A’s and Giants-themed art, including legends, current players, mascots, stadiums and abstract representations. Art will be in various art forms: oil and acrylic paintings; graphite, ink and spray paint art; photography; and sculpture. The artists will have the opportunity to sell their artwork, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Oakland A’s Community Fund and the Giants Community Fund.
Fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with The Bridge – the official trophy to be presented to the winner of the A’s and Giants Bay Bridge Series – at the Battle of the Bay Art Show. The Bridge is made with steel salvaged from the original East Span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
Last season, the A’s were the inaugural winner of The Bridge, winning four of their six regular-season match-ups with the Giants. The A's clinched the trophy on July 22 when Marcus Semien scored the winning run on Matt Chapman’s walk-off hit, beating the Giants 6-5 in 10 innings in the rivals' final interleague contest.
