The Oakland A's will return home tomorrow, Aug. 8, for a nine-game homestand against the Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Royals.
The A's and PG&E will open the homestand by assembling 1,000 backpacks with school supplies from 3 - 4:30 p.m. in the Eastside Club at the Oakland Coliseum. A's pitchers Simon Castro and Chris Smith will join volunteers from 3 - 3:30 p.m. to pack backpacks with folders, notebooks, pens and other school supplies, including a first aid kit, provided by the American Red Cross. The backpacks will be distributed by the Lend a Hand Foundation to Oakland middle school students. The team will also host a number of youth baseball clinics during the upcoming week, including a Chevron STEM-related baseball clinic on Aug. 15 featuring Kendall Graveman.
With the end of summer right around the corner, the A's Summer Movie Fireworks, presented by Chevron, will follow the Aug. 12 game against the Orioles. Fans can enjoy the animated movies themed show from the outfield grass.

A's AMIGOS: A's pitcher Simon Castro will meet with bilingual Spanish-speaking children from non-profit organizations as part of the A's Amigos program. Participants are able to learn about the value of sportsmanship and hard work from their role models. In addition to the pregame chat, each child receives a game ticket and an A's cap. A's Amigos is driven by Chevrolet.
LITTLE A's: Local youth and their chaperones from nonprofit organizations will have the opportunity to attend an A's game free of charge through the Little A's program. In addition to a game ticket, each child receives a Bank of America souvenir and child-admission pass to the Oakland Zoo. The Little A's program is presented by Bank of America and supported by the Oakland Zoo, Clorox, and Capitol Corridor.
FOOD BANK WEDNESDAY: On select Wednesdays throughout the season, volunteers will be on-site to help collect cans of food and monetary donations before the game to benefit the Alameda County Food Bank. With every five cans donated or $20 contribution, fans will receive two vouchers that are redeemable for a Plaza Level ticket at 50% off for a 2017 A's game. Food Bank Wednesdays is presented by Lagunitas.

PG&E YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC: A's coaches will host 100 children from Cal Ripken Babe Ruth Northern California Baseball League for a baseball clinic, presented by PG&E. Children will participate in pitching, throwing, fielding, catching, base running, and hitting workshops to fine-tune their skills on the field from noon - 1 p.m.
A'S TAP TAKEOVER: Ballast Point will take over the Gastropub, located in the Shibe Park Tavern. Fans will be able to taste and enjoy up to a dozen different Ballast Point offerings.
