Blue Jays sign RHP Seung-Hwan Oh

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have signed free agent RHP SEUNG-HWAN OH to a one year contract (US $1.75 million) with a club option for 2019 (US $2.5 million) that can automatically vest based upon appearances.

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have signed free agent RHP SEUNG-HWAN OH to a one year contract (US $1.75 million) with a club option for 2019 (US $2.5 million) that can automatically vest based upon appearances.
OH, 35, spent the 2017 season with the St. Louis Cardinals where he was 1-6 with 20 saves and an ERA of 4.10 in 62 games. The native of Jeongeup, South Korea debuted in Major League Baseball in 2016 when he was 6-3 in 76 games with 19 saves and an ERA of 1.92. Combined he owns a 7-9 record with 39 saves and a 2.85 ERA in 138 games. In a combined 139.0 innings the 5-10, 205 lb. right-hander has walked 33 batters with 157 strikeouts and an opponent's batting average of .233.
To make room on the 40-man roster the Blue Jays have designated OF Ezequiel Carrera for assignment.
