Braves set National League Division Series roster

The Atlanta Braves today set their 25-man roster for the National League Division Series against Los Angeles (NL), which begins tonight at 8:37 p.m. with Game 1 at Dodger Stadium.

The Atlanta Braves today set their 25-man roster for the National League Division Series against Los Angeles (NL), which begins tonight at 8:37 p.m. with Game 1 at Dodger Stadium. The roster includes 12 pitchers, three catchers, six infielders and four outfielders. Twelve of the 25 players have previous postseason experience, including three who have been on a World Series roster. Five of the players are rookies. 
The 12 players on the roster with postseason experience include INF Charlie Culberson, who is appearing in the playoffs for the third consecutive season after helping the Dodgers to the World Series in 2017, and Game 2 starter Aníbal Sánchez, who owns a 2.79 (12 ER/38.2 IP) lifetime ERA over seven postseason appearances and went to the World Series in 2012 with Detroit. 1B Lucas Duda helped the Mets capture the National League pennant in 2015, appearing in 14 postseason games for the club that year. 
1B Freddie Freeman and RHP Julio Teheran are the only two Braves on this season's roster who were with the club for its 3-1 NLDS loss to Los Angeles in 2013, which marks the last time Atlanta was in the postseason. LHP Jonny Venters pitched for the Braves during their postseason trips in 2010 (3-1 NLDS loss to San Francisco) and 2012 (Wild Card game loss to St. Louis). 
The other six Braves with postseason experience are OF Nick Markakis, C Kurt Suzuki, RHP Brad Brach, RHP Kevin Gausman, INF Ryan Flaherty and C René Rivera.
Game 2 will be here tomorrow, October 5, at 9:37 p.m. on FS1. The teams will travel to Atlanta for Game 3 on Sunday at 8:07 p.m., also on FS1, and would play a Game 4 if necessary on Monday, October 8 at SunTrust Park. The teams would return to Dodger Stadium for a Game 5 if needed on Wednesday, October 10.
