Brewers Community Foundation now accepting scholarship applications

Brewers Community Foundation (BCF) today announced that applications for the Allan H. Selig, Player/Coaches, and Miller Park Community Scholarship Programs are now being accepted.

“Education is one of Brewers Community Foundation’s focused areas of interest,” said Cecelia Gore, executive director of BCF. “We take great pride in supporting students seeking higher education and are thrilled to partner with parents and the community as we support the aspirations of our future leaders.”

Applicants for the Selig Scholarship must be graduating seniors from a Wisconsin High School Class of 2019 and accepted to a Wisconsin college or university. Applicants for the Player/Coaches and Miller Park Community Scholarships must be planning to attend or currently attend a Wisconsin college or university. Scholarship amounts range from $1,000 to $2,500 per year. Interested students can visit brewers.com/BCF to apply for the programs.

BCF harnesses the pride, passion and commitment of Brewers fans, players and other supporters to positively impact the lives of children and their families in the Greater Milwaukee area and throughout Wisconsin. Over the past nine years, BCF has generated more than $32 million to support local nonprofits in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs.

In 2018, approximately 200 nonprofit organizations received funding through the Foundation’s initiatives, including City Year Milwaukee, Journey House, Beckum-Stapleton Little League, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, Sojourner Family Peace Center, Milwaukee Public Library, Fisher House Wisconsin, United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County and AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin.

BCF helps fundraise with various initiatives including the 50/50 Game Day Raffle, BCF Week, the 5K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk, the Hitting for the Cycle Bike Ride, Drive for Charity and the Leadership Council.
