The Seattle Mariners will mark James Paxton's historic no-hitter last night in Toronto with a celebration at Safeco Field on Friday, May 18, against the Detroit Tigers. Paxton is projected as the Mariners starting pitcher for the game.
Specially priced tickets are available for select View Level seats for $10 and select Club and Main Level seats for $30. Tickets are available online at Mariners.com/Paxton.
Paxton pitched Major League Baseball's third no-hitter of the season, and the sixth no-hitter in Mariners history, against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre last night. Paxton, a native of Ladner, British Columbia, became only the second Canadian to achieve the feat after Dick Fowler of Toronto did it on September 9, 1945, while pitching for the Philadelphia A's against the St. Louis Browns. It was the first MLB no-hitter on Canadian soil.
On Friday, May 18, all fans will receive a placard commemorating Paxton's 5-0, no-hit victory over the Blue Jays, courtesy of Oberto.
Friday is also Blanket Hoodie Night, with the first 10,000 fans receiving a fleece blanket that features a hood. It is also College Night, with specially priced tickets and extended Happy Hour in The 'Pen, Edgar's Cantina and Home Run Porch, Presented by Sol, and View Level concessions stands.
