D-backs announce Ketel Marte Luchador bobblehead giveaway on Sept. 8
The D-backs announced via a press conference Friday that they will give away 20,000 Ketel Marte Luchador bobbleheads, courtesy of Pepsi, on Sept. 8. The D-backs will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day, presented by Bud Light, on Sept. 8 and will announce additional details about festivities for the day at a later time.
The D-backs announced via a press conference Friday that they will give away 20,000 Ketel Marte Luchador bobbleheads, courtesy of Pepsi, on Sept. 8. The D-backs will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day, presented by Bud Light, on Sept. 8 and will announce additional details about festivities for the day at a later time.
The Ketel Marte bobblehead features the D-backs infielder in a traditional luchador costume showcasing a wrestling mask, cape and boots. The detailed mask includes snake-themed fangs and the team's primary "A" logo and the current team color scheme of Sedona Red and Teal is featured all over the bobblehead.Marte is also wearing a Los D-backs jersey, which the team will wear on Sept. 8.
Marte, a native of Nizao, Dominican Republic (D.R.), goes by the nickname "Pike," which comes from the D.R. reference to someone who has swagger. His 8 triples in the first half of the season are a franchise record and are currently tied for first in the National League.
