In seven games last week, Drury batted .500 (14-for-28), tying for the NL lead. The 24-year-old rookie also ranked among NL leaders with a 1.036 slugging percentage (1st), .588 on-base percentage (1st), 10 runs scored (1st), 14 hits (2nd), 29 total bases (2nd), four home runs (3rd) and seven RBIs (T-7th). Drury capped his week with a walk-off RBI in Sunday's 10-9 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Grants Pass, Oregon native delivered the game-ending single in the 12th inning of the contest, finishing the day with a career high-tying four hits, including his 15th home run of the season. On Wednesday, Drury's three-hit, two-RBI effort helped lead the way to an 11-6 win over the visiting Rockies. He also collected four hits, including a home run and a double, in Monday's 12-9 victory over Colorado. On the season, Drury currently ranks sixth among NL rookie leaders in home runs, while his 48 RBIs rank fourth. This is his first career weekly honor.
Rodriguez had an NL-leading 12 RBIs in eight games last week, while tying for the Major League lead with five home runs. The 31-year-old veteran also ranked among NL leaders with 27 total bases (3rd), 12 hits (T-3rd) and a .931 slugging percentage (4th), while battig .414 (12-for-29) during the week. Rodriguez homered in three consecutive games to end the week, going 2-for-4 with a home run in each of Pittsburgh's wins on Saturday as the Bucs swept their doubleheader at Cincinnati. He also homered in a losing effort in Sunday's series finale between the two clubs. The Miami, Florida native homered and drove in three runs in Thursday's 15-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Rodriguez clubbed his second career pinch-hit homer in Tuesday's matchup between the Keystone State rivals, giving the visiting Pirates the lead with a three-run blast in the ninth inning of an eventual 5-3 victory. Rodriguez has already set career highs with 17 home runs and 51 RBIs this season. This is the first Player of the Week honor of his his nine-year Major League career.
