D-backs recall Taylor Clarke from Triple-A Reno, optioned Tim Locastro to Reno yesterday post-game

The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled RHP Taylor Clarke (@t_clarke9) from Triple-A Reno today, after optioning INF/OF Tim Locastro to Reno following yesterday’s game. The D-backs’ 40-man roster is at 40.

Clarke, 25, will wear No. 45 for his Major League debut. He entered 2019 as the D-backs' No. 10 prospect by MLB.com and as having the Best Control in the system per Baseball America. He was the D-backs' third-round pick in the 2015 draft out of College of Charleston.

Clarke, in 3 starts for Reno, is 1-1 with a 7.36 ERA (12 ER in 14.2 IP). In 2018, in 27 starts for Reno, he went 13-8 with a 4.03 ERA, .254 opponent average and 125 strikeouts.

Clarke, over parts of 5 seasons in the D-backs system, has appeared in 97 games (84 starts) and is 38-27 with a 3.53 ERA (189 ER in 482.0 IP), .241 opponent average and 420 strikeouts. In 36 starts at Reno from 2017-19, he is 17-11 with a 4.40 ERA (98 ER in 200.1 IP), .251 opponent average and 168 strikeouts.

Locastro, 26, appeared in 9 games for the D-backs and hit .364 (4-for-11)/.563 OBP/.364 SLG with 4 runs scored, 2 walks, 3 hit-by-pitches and 2 stolen bases. In 3 games for Reno, he is 1-for-12 with 1 home run, 1 RBI and 1 walk.
