The Detroit Tigers on Monday announced they have promoted Chad Crunk to director of media relations. Crunk, who most recently served as manager of media relations, will oversee the day-to-day operation of the club's media relations department, and serve as the main point of contact for media interview requests of baseball personnel. Crunk will continue to report to Ron Colangelo, the Tigers' Vice President of Communications.
Crunk recently completed his fourth season with the Tigers, having joined the Club in 2014 as media relations manager. Crunk previously spent three years as an assistant communications director at the University of Arkansas, where he served as the primary media contact for the Razorbacks' baseball team, that included current Major League players James McCann, Brian Anderson, Matt Reynolds, Ryne Stanek, and Andrew Benintendi. Additionally, he worked in the athletic department at Wake Forest University and Vanderbilt University.
A graduate from the University of Kentucky in December, 2006 with a BS in Journalism, Crunk is a native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
