LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired left-handed pitcher Kris Bubic from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for right-handed pitcher Carlos Duran.
Bubic, 28, made nine appearances for the Royals this season, going 3-2 with a 4.11 ERA. He is currently on the 60-day injured list with left elbow soreness. He has been with the Royals seven seasons, notching a 22-38 mark with a 4.14 ERA and 495 strikeouts in 522 innings. He was an All-Star in 2025, going 8-7 with a 2.55 ERA in 20 games. He was drafted by the Royals in the first round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of Stanford University.
Duran, 25, has appeared in 37 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, going 3-2 with a 3.38 ERA. He has 61 strikeouts in 42.2 innings while limiting hitters to a .204 batting average. He made his Major League debut last season on May 22 against the Angels as a member of the Athletics, allowing three runs in 0.1 innings. In seven minor league seasons, he is 11-22 with a 4.17 ERA and 454 strikeouts in 371.2 innings. The Dominican native was originally signed as an international free agent on March 8, 2018 by the Dodgers.
