LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled infielder Matt Beaty and selected the contract of outfielder Kyle Garlick. To make room on the 25-man roster, the Dodgers placed right-handed pitcher Kenta Maeda on the 10-day injured list with a left adductor contusion.

Beaty, 26, returns to the Major Leagues for his second stint with the club. Beaty went 2-for-3 with an RBI in his first stint, recording his first Major League hit in his first Major League at bat on April 30 at San Francisco. The former Belmont Bruin has played in 28 games for Oklahoma City, posting a .299 (32-for-107) batting average with three homers and 15 RBI.

Garlick, 27, will be selected for the first time in his career and his next appearance will be his Major League debut. The outfielder has played in 35 games for OKC Dodgers, batting .280 (33-for-118) with a team leading 10 homers and 20 RBI. Garlick was originally drafted by the Dodgers in 28th round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft out of Cal Poly Pomona. In five minor league seasons, he is a combined .283 (431-for-1525) with 78 homers and 244 RBI across five different levels.

Maeda, 31, will make his third career trip to the injured list with a left adductor contusion. In nine starts this season, he is 5-2 with a 3.52 ERA (20 ER/50.1 IP) and 52 strikeouts. He has not allowed a run in back-to-back starts and has fired 14.2 scoreless innings and he has not allowed a run since the fourth inning of May 5 at San Diego. In his four-year Major League career, he is a combined 42-29 with a 3.77 ERA (204 ER/486.2 IP) with 52 strikeouts.
