Goslings Rum Celebrates Return of Baseball with Red Sox Themed Ready-to-Drink Dark 'n Stormy®

July 20th, 2020

Goslings Rum is swinging for the fences! The 2020 Major League Baseball season resumes on July 23, and while stadiums remain closed, fans can support the Boston Red Sox at home with help from Goslings Rum. Now in their 10th year as the Official Rum of the Red Sox, the brand has unveiled a new look for the delicious Dark ‘n Stormy Ready-To-Drink canned cocktail, outfitted with the unmistakable color of Fenway Park’s left field wall, known as the Green Monster. The four-packs are now available for purchase at select retailers and Drizly.com throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island, retailing for $10.99 (12 oz cans; 7% ABV). The cans will also be available to enjoy at Fenway Park when it reopens to guests.

The Goslings Ready-To-Drink Dark ‘n Stormy is the authentic combination of Goslings Black Seal Rum and Goslings Stormy Ginger Beer. To recreate the experience of watching a home game while at your own home, this cocktail can be enjoyed straight from the can – no ice, mixing, or glass required. The award-winning rum is available at bars throughout the park and at the “Dark ‘n Stormy Boardroom,” an exclusive suite overlooking home plate.

“Though baseball season looks different this year, we are excited to bring Boston Red Sox fans the Fenway Park experience at home with our trademarked Dark ‘n Stormy,” says E. Malcolm Gosling, seventh-generation rum maker and CEO of Goslings International Limited. “The Dark ‘n Stormy is a summer baseball staple and we hope that the cool and fresh Green Monster inspired design brings baseball fans joy. Cheers to winning the next World Championship!”

“It is very fitting that our friends at Goslings are rolling out this new, distinctive design at this time,” said Red Sox Executive Vice President Troup Parkinson. “It not only helps mark our 10-year partnership, but also the unique nature of this unprecedented 60-game baseball season. We are happy to lend our signature Green Monster color to their Dark ‘n Stormy Ready-To-Drink canned cocktail, and look forward to another decade of partnership and friendship.”

Founded in 1806, Goslings Rum is a family-owned business based in Bermuda, though its ties to Boston are strong. Bermuda is a short hour and a half-long flight from the Boston Logan International Airport, making it a popular vacation destination for New Englanders. Malcolm Gosling attended Boston College, later bringing the Goslings export business to Massachusetts, and forming partnerships with the New England Patriots, Deutsche Bank Tournament, and later the Red Sox.
