Important information for Giants home opener on Friday, April 5

WEATHER NOTE: We are closely monitoring the weather and intend to get our game in on Friday. We have plans for all weather scenarios and will keep fans regularly updated as information becomes available.

OPENING DAY FESTIVITIES – Friday , April 5th

The Giants will begin the 2019 season campaign at home when they face the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, April 5. This day, steeped in tradition, will be the final home opener for beloved Manager Bruce Bochy who announced at the start of Spring Training that this will be his final season as the skipper of the Giants. He will retire at the end of the season after 13 years with the club and 25 consecutive years as a big-league manager. The Giants will begin the season-long retirement celebration by honoring the Three-Time World Series Champion Manager during the home opener.

The organization will also pay tribute during the pre-game ceremony and throughout the game to some special Forever Giants who recently passed away, including Broadcaster Hank Greenwald, Former Manager Frank Robinson, Former Managing General Partner Peter A. Magowan and Hall of Famer Willie McCovey. Additionally, the team will honor the first responders of the devastating California wildfires that destroyed many parts of the state and will remember the victims of the tragic fires. The National Anthem will be performed by SHN Orpheum Theatre, HAMILTON’s, George Washington, Isaiah Johnson.

Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 12:45 p.m. Gates will open two and a half hours before first pitch which is set for 1:35 p.m. A limited number of tickets for Opening Day are still available at sfgiants.com/tickets.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION FOR ORACLE PARK

The Giants always encourage fans to take public transit, walk or bike to Oracle Park whenever possible. Please go to sfgiants.com/transportation for the most updated information throughout the season. Below are a few key reminders about transportation for this upcoming homestand.

• Due to an event in Giants Lot A, parking will be limited from April 6-12:
o April 6-7: Cash & credit parking will be limited in Lot A & Pier 48. Parking passes will be honored.
o April 8-11: There will be no cash & credit parking in Lot A & Pier 48 for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday's games. Parking passes will be recognized in Lot A & Pier 48 on a first-come first-served basis.
o April 12: Cash & credit parking will be limited in Lot A & Pier 48. Parking passes will be honored.
o Pier 30/32 is an alternative for parking.

Fans who ride Caltrain will find that Caltrain has brought back its post-game express service after every night and weekend game. Two special express trains to Millbrae continuing with local stops to San Jose depart 15 and 25 minutes after last out.

Fans taking Uber or other ride hail services should use the newly expanded passenger loading zones just north of the ballpark on 3rd, Townsend and Brannan Streets for an enhanced drop-off and pick-up experience.
