The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the Major League roster:
Recalled RHP SHANE BIEBER (#57) & RHP EVAN MARSHALL (#50) from Triple-A Columbus.
Placed RHP CARLOS CARRASCO (right elbow contusion) & LHP TYLER OLSON (left latissimus dorsi strain) on the 10-day Disabled List.
Bieber, 23, will be making his second Major League start today vs. Minnesota after debuting in Target Field on May 31 (ND, 5.2IP, 8H, 4R/ER, 1BB, 6SO). So far this season between AAA Columbus and AA Akron he has posted a record of 6-1 with a 1.29 ERA in 12 starts (76.2IP, 53H, 11ER, 6BB, 72SO, .191 avg), including a 7-inning, rain-shortened no-hitter on May 25 at AAA Gwinnett (7.0IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 7SO). His combined ERA of 1.29 is tops in the organization and 4th-lowest in all of Minor League Baseball. His most recent start came at AAA Louisville on June 12 (W, 7.1IP, 5H, 2R/1ER, 1BB, 5SO).
Marshall, 28, will begin his third stint in the Majors with Cleveland this season (also May 3-19, May 26-June 10), posting no record and a 6.75 ERA across 9 previous relief appearances (6.2IP, 10H, 5R-ER, 0HR, 4BB, 8SO, .345AVG). Seven of the right-hander's nine outings with the Indians have been scoreless, while he has also held left-handed batters to a .200 avg. and .473 OPS. Marshall has gone 1-0 with a 0.66 ERA over 11 relief appearances for Triple-A Columbus (13.2IP, 13H, 3R/1ER, 1BB, 11SO, .245AVG).

The Cleveland Indians recalled RHP Shane Bieber and Evan Marshall from Triple-A Columbus. The club also placed RHP Carlos Carrasco and LHP Tyler Olson on the 10-day Disabled List.
