CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the 2019 Major League roster:

Recalled RHP JON EDWARDS (#46) from Triple-A Columbus.

Optioned RHP AARON CIVALE to Triple-A Columbus.

Edwards, 31, has split the 2019 season between Cleveland and Triple-A Columbus and is beginning his fifth stint on the Major League roster, his first since June 5-7. With Cleveland, he has posted a 2.25 ERA in nine relief outings (8.0IP, 5H, 2R/ER, 6BB, 5SO, .179 avg). During his time at AAA, he has posted a 3-0 mark with a 3.97 ERA in 18 relief outings (22.2IP, 21H, 10ER, 10BB, 29SO, .233 avg, 11.5 SO per 9.0IP). With the Clippers, Triple-A right-handed hitters are hitting just .216 (11-for-51).
