May 28th, 2022

MingsBings, Chef Ming Tsai's gluten-free vegan pocket line, has been named the "Official Bing of the Boston Red Sox". Traditionally, vegans, vegetarians and those who seek gluten-free meals have had limited food options at ballparks and stadiums across the country. Fenway Park will now be offering its fans an affordable, vegan, gluten-free and food-allergen friendly hand-held food created by Boston's own Iron Chef, Ming Tsai. MingsBings' Cheeseburger Bing and Sausage and Peppers Bing, both 100% plant-based, will be available to purchase for $6 before and during each home game on Jersey Street, the Sam Deck and through in-seat mobile ordering.

Founded in March of 2020 by world-renowned Asian-American chef and recently named Iron Chef, Ming Tsai, MingsBings are plant-based pockets based on the traditional Chinese "bing," a dim sum item dating back to the Ming dynasty and popular street food. Using his signature East meets West culinary style, Tsai reinvented the bing with Western flavors and a plant-based, gluten-free, and dairy-free spin. MingsBings' brand commitment, "Eat Good. Feel Good. Do Good.," represents Chef Tsai's mission to make plant-based food delicious, healthy, accessible, and convenient while helping as many people as possible. MingsBings donates a portion of all proceeds to Family Reach and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute & The Jimmy Fund.

MingsBings will offer "Meatless Monday" specials at Fenway Park every Monday throughout the season through the MLB Ballpark ticketing app, beginning with $1 off Bings on Monday, May 30th. Additionally, to recognize Chef Tsai's contributions within the Boston community including his philanthropic efforts with Dana-Farber/Jimmy Fund and Boston-based Family Reach, Chef Tsai has been invited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at an upcoming game.

"Food is life, it brings people together and it's an honor to serve MingsBings at my home ballpark for the second season," said Chef Ming Tsai. "My ritual before every Red Sox game is grabbing a sausage and peppers on Lansdowne St. I have combined all the flavors: mustard, onions, peppers and Italian "sausage" in this classic bite, wrapped in a crunchy gluten-free bing.

MingsBings are a high-protein, plant-based, gluten-free snack that's easy to eat and perfect for any game or activity at Fenway Park," Chef Tsai added.

"Fenway Park's expanded food and beverage menu, including Chef Ming Tsai's MingsBings, will provide some of the most unique options throughout the Major Leagues as the club furthers its efforts to enhance the fan experience for all guests," said Peter Nesbit, VP of Ballpark Operations at the Boston Red Sox. "We are excited to bring fans a chef-created, gluten-free, delicious menu item, like MingsBings, which Chef Tsai has customized to reflect "home field" Fenway food traditions."

MingsBings are available at over 1200 grocery stores nationwide, including most recently at select Target locations and at local New England retailers such as Market Basket, Wegmans, Roche Brothers, Dave's Fresh Market, Big Y and Hannaford.
