The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that OF J.D. Martinez has reported to the team and will be active for tonight's game, and placed OF Rey Fuentes on the 10-day disabled list with a left thumb contusion.
Martinez, who will wear No. 28, hit .305 (61-for-200) with 13 doubles, 16 home runs, 39 RBI, a .630 slugging pct. and a 1.018 OPS in 57 games with the Tigers in 2017. He was acquired from the Tigers yesterday for INF Dawel Lugo, INF Sergio Alcantara and INF Jose King.
Fuentes, 26, suffered the injury in his final at-bat last night in Cincinnati. He has appeared in 41 games with Arizona this season, hitting .240 (24-for-100) with 2 home runs and 6 RBI. Over his last 25 games, Fuentes batted .321 (18-for-56) with 12 runs scored.
