LHP Taylor Hearn recalled from Nashville to start in Major League debut In Seattle

The Texas Rangers today announced that left-handed pitcher Taylor Hearn has been recalled from Triple-A Nashville of the Pacific Coast League and will make his Major League debut on Thursday night in a start against the Mariners in Seattle.

To make room for Hearn on the active roster, right-handed pitcher Wei-Chieh Huang was optioned to Double-A Frisco after Thursday’s game.

Hearn (#63) is 1-3, 4.05 (9 ER/20.0 IP) over 4 games/starts for Nashville this season. The 24-year-old lefthander will be pitching on his regular 4 days’ rest after taking the loss in his last start on April 20 versus San Antonio (3 ER/6.0 IP). Hearn had been scheduled to start for Nashville tonight at Iowa.

The Royse City, Texas native is in his first full season in the Texas organization after being acquired in a three-player trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 31, 2018

Huang was recalled on Tuesday from Frisco and allowed 3 hits and 2 runs (1 ER) in 2.1 innings in his big league debut that night in Oakland.
