Mariners open the 2022 season at T-Mobile Park on March 31 against the Detroit Tigers

The Seattle Mariners 2022 season is scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 31, when the Detroit Tigers come to T-Mobile Park, according to the tentative schedule announced today by Major League Baseball.

The six-game Opening Homestand features four games against the Tigers (March 31-April 3) and two against the Los Angeles Angels (April 4-5).

Interleague Matchups

Next season, the American League West will match up against the National League East. The Philadelphia Phillies (May 9-11), Washington Nationals (August 23-24) and Atlanta Braves (September 9-11) all travel to Seattle, while the Mariners will visit the Miami Marlins (April 29-May 1), New York Mets (May 13-15) and Washington Nationals (July 12-13).

The Mariners will also play two against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park July 4-5, and host the Padres at T-Mobile Park for a two-game set September 13-14.

Other schedule highlights of note:

  • The Mariners will host the Boston Red Sox for a three-game weekend series June 10-12, and the New York Yankees come to T-Mobile Park August 8-10.
  • The season concludes with a six-game homestand against the Texas Rangers (September 27-29) and Oakland A’s (September 30-October 2).
