Mariners open the 2021 Season at T-Mobile Park on April 1 against the San Francisco Giants

The Seattle Mariners 2021 season is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 1, when the San Francisco Giants come to T-Mobile Park, according to the tentative schedule announced today by Major League Baseball.

The six-game Opening Homestand features three games against the Giants (April 1-3), a rare Sunday off day, and a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox (April 5-7).

Interleague Matchups

In addition to the Giants, the month of April brings a second National League West team to T-Mobile Park with a two-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers April 19-20. All the N.L. West teams except the San Diego Padres will be in Seattle next season for Interleague play.

The Mariners will host the Colorado Rockies June 22-23, and the Arizona Diamondbacks will travel to Seattle September 10-12.

The Mariners will travel to Los Angeles to play the Dodgers May 11-12, to San Diego for the only meeting with the Padres on May 21-23, to Denver to play the Rockies July 20-21, and to Arizona September 3-5 for a three-game set against the Diamondbacks.

Other schedule highlights of note:

  • The Mariners will travel to Boston for four games against the Red Sox April 22-25. The Red Sox will be in Seattle for a three-game series September 13-15.
  • The New York Yankees will be at T-Mobile Park July 6-8. The Mariners will meet the Yankees in New York August 5-8.
  • The Mariners will be home on Memorial Day, May 31, to meet the Oakland Athletics, and on Sunday July 4, hosting the Texas Rangers.
  • The season will conclude with a six-game homestand against the A’s, September 27-29, and three against the Los Angeles Angels October 1-3.
