Bergman, 29, who was designated for assignment yesterday (8/15), made 2 relief appearances with the Mariners after being selected from AAA Tacoma prior to Saturday's game. He combined for 5.0 scoreless innings in relief - including 4.0 scoreless innings Sunday vs. the Angels - scattering 2 hits and 1 hit batsman while striking out 3. Overall, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-hander is 4-4 with a 4.91 ERA (28 ER, 51.1 IP) with 33 strikeouts and 14 walks in 11 games (8 starts) over two stints (5/7-6/20 and 8/12-13) with Seattle this season.
