Mariners outright the contract of INF Mike Freeman to AAA Tacoma

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today from Spring Training that the club has outrighted the contract of infielder Mike Freeman to AAA Tacoma.

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today from Spring Training that the club has outrighted the contract of infielder Mike Freeman to AAA Tacoma.
Freeman, who has been absent from Seattle's spring training since being designated for assignment on March 1, will return to Major League camp as a non-roster invitee.
Seattle's camp roster is now 63 players, 41 roster players and 22 non-roster invitees.
Freeman, 29, hit .227 (5x22) with 1 run, 1 double and 1 RBI in 21 games with Seattle (13 G) and Arizona (8 G) in 2016. He was 5x13/.385 in three separate stints with the Mariners (Aug. 7-9, Aug. 25-27 and Sept. 12-Oct. 2). He collected his first Major League hit in his Mariners debut Aug. 7 vs. the Angels.
