Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Drew Storen from his rehab assignment with AAA Tacoma and activated him from the 15-day disabled list.
 
Storen (#45) will be in uniform and available for today's (1:10 pm PT) game vs. the Angels.
 
Storen, 28, struck out 1 in 1.0 scoreless inning in 1 rehab appearance with AAA Tacoma. He was originally placed on the 15-day disabled list on Aug. 22 with right shoulder inflammation. Prior to being placed on the disabled list, Storen was 2-0 with a 4.35 ERA (5 ER, 10.1 IP) with 6 strikeouts in 10 appearances with the Mariners. Storen has held opponents scoreless in 8 of his last 9 outings (7/31 - c) and has limited opponents to 1 run or fewer in each of his last 9 games. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound right-hander was acquired from Toronto in exchange for right-handed pitcher Joaquin Benoit on July 26. Overall this season, Storen is 3-3 with 3 saves and a 5.77 ERA (28 ER, 43.2 IP) with 38 strikeouts in 48 combined relief appearances with Toronto and Seattle.
 
In seven Major League seasons with Washington (2010-15), Toronto (2016) and Seattle, Storen is 24-16 with a 3.34 ERA (140 ER, 377.2 IP) with 359 strikeouts in 403 career games. He was drafted by Washington in the first round (10th overall) of the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Stanford University.
