MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – Every child deserves a teddy bear, so the Minnesota Twins and U.S. Bank are inviting fans to take part in the club’s first-ever Postgame Teddy Bear Toss after the 1:10 p.m. Twins vs. Chicago White Sox game this Sunday, August 30 at Target Field. In a game-ending display of generosity, fans can toss teddy bears and stuffed animals onto the field, helping deliver comfort to children in need at Children’s Minnesota and Mary’s Place.
Sunday’s Postgame Teddy Bear Toss — believed to be the first held by a Major League Baseball club — is part of a longstanding Twins-U.S. Bank partnership built on a shared commitment to empower youth, foster belonging and strengthen our local communities.
How it Works:
- What to Bring: Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently-used, clean, soft/plush teddy bears or stuffed animals to Sunday's game (maximum 18"; no hard plastic parts, batteries or glitter).
- After the Game: Shortly after the conclusion of the game, fans will be prompted via an in-ballpark announcement to safely toss their teddy bears onto the field from designated areas. Guest Services staff will direct, and volunteers will collect all donated toys.
Safety/Logistics:
- Throws are only permitted from the designated areas and during the official Postgame Teddy Bear toss window.
- Guest services staff will assist with instruction; all participation is subject to Target Field safety policies.
Where the Bears Go:
- On Tuesday, September 15, Twins players, alumni and mascot T.C. Bear, along with U.S. Bank representatives, will hand-deliver a portion of the collected teddy bears to patients at Children's Minnesota. The remaining bears will go to children staying at Mary's Place, which offers free emergency shelter and transitional housing for families experiencing homelessness.
