The New York Mets today announced a new partnership with the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and will continue to host the annual Taiwan Heritage Day on Sunday, August 28 at Citi Field when the Mets host the Philadelphia Phillies at 1:10 p.m.

SNY will play a big role in the new partnership by airing Taiwan tourism commercials during their programming to attract visitors to Taiwan. Former Mets pitcher and current SNY studio analyst Nelson Figueroa will travel to Taiwan to highlight all that the country has to offer from historic sites, beautiful landscapes, and delicious cuisine to popular night-life. Figueroa, a former player and coach for the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions, will also visit his old organization to meet current players and coaches and to re-capture the memorable moments from his time spent with the club. SNY will create 10 vignettes of this unique content to show during Mets pregame segments as well as during their nightly news program GEICO SportsNite throughout the summer.

The new partnership also involves new elements such as lower home plate signage for select home games during the season including games against the Kansas City Royals and Miami Marlins, which have Taiwanese players on their roster.

Tickets are on sale for the August 28 Taiwan Heritage Day at mets.com/Taiwan, by phone at (718) 507-TIXX, or in person at the Jackie Robinson Rotunda ticket windows. For more information, please contact Wayne Wang of the New York Mets Group Sales Department at (718) 559-3194 or [email protected]
