Astros take on Red Sox for rematch of the year in upcoming homestand

HOUSTON, TX – The red-hot Astros, winners of eight games straight and who currently hold the best record in MLB, will take on the Boston Red Sox for the first time since the 2018 ALCS this weekend in Boston. The team will return Monday, May 20 for a 10-game homestand, as they host the Chicago White Sox (May 20-23), Boston Red Sox (May 24-26) and Chicago Cubs (May 27-29). Fans are encouraged to come out and create a home field advantage atmosphere, as the last two World Champions meet at Minute Maid Park for the first time since the ALCS.

TICKET AND GATE ENTRY POLICIES

As a reminder regarding tickets, all fans must either have their printed tickets in hand or utilize the MLB Ballpark App on their mobile devices to access Minute Maid Park and any Astros Street Fests. PDFs, screenshots or any photos of tickets on a mobile device will NOT be accepted, and the Astros will not be able to print tickets on-site.

As a part of the Astros ongoing commitment to the safety of all fans and in compliance with Astros security policies and other sports and entertainment venues around the country, there is no re-entry into the ballpark once fans are scanned in. Fans will also not be allowed to bring multi-zipper backpacks into the ballpark. Exceptions to this rule include diaper bags, single-compartment drawstring bags and other bags used for medical reasons. As usual, all bags will be searched prior to entry into the stadium.

In our continued effort to expedite entry and decrease the amount of time fans wait in line to get into the ballpark, the Astros have added a new entrance at Home Plate and increased the total amount of metal detectors at the entrances. Fans are still encouraged to arrive early, in order to avoid long lines and delays.

Tuesday, May 21 vs. Chicago White Sox- 7:10 p.m.

Tuesday nights are the fan favorite Dollar Dog Nights! Every Tuesday night home game is $1 Hot Dog Night presented by Nolan Ryan Beef! Fans can purchase an unlimited number of Nolan Ryan Beef hot dogs at $1 each, while supplies last (limit of four per person per concession visit).

T-Shirt Tuesday, presented by DraftKings, also takes place every Tuesday home game. Fans have an opportunity to purchase a special ticket add-on for only $10 that includes an exclusive Astros designed t-shirt as a part of T-Shirt Tuesday. Prior to Tuesday’s evening contest, the Astros Foundation and Gardner Denver will welcome Houston Fire Department Station 36, located at 7720 Airport Boulevard into the Adopt-A-Fire Station program, which seeks to support local first responders and the work they do in the Houston community. The program connects Houston fire stations and Astros players. On Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., Astros pitcher Will Harris will present a framed jersey and visit with Houston Fire Department Station 36 first responders. Please note that date and player are subject to change.

Wednesday, May 22 vs. Chicago White Sox- 7:10 p.m.

Prior to Wednesday’s game, 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Yuli Gurriel “Swing” Bobblehead, as they enter the gates. As a reminder, for all Monday - Saturday gate giveaways dates, all gates will open three (3) hours prior to First Pitch. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the ballpark early to receive any promotional giveaways, as supplies are limited and not guaranteed.

Astros outfielder Josh Reddick will host veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project at Wednesday’s game. The veterans will participate in a meet and greet with Reddick prior to Wednesday’s 7:10 p.m. first pitch. This visit marks the first of a monthly program conducted by Reddick and the Astros Foundation for military members and their families.

Friday, May 24 vs. Boston Red Sox - 7:10 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to come out and create a home field advantage for the Astros, as the last two World Champions meet at Minute Maid Park for the first time since the ALCS. As a reminder, every Friday night home game at Minute Maid Park is part of the Big and Bright Friday Nights series. A special Pregame Happy Hour, presented by Budweiser, will take place at the Budweiser Brew House. Fans can enjoy $6, 16oz Budweiser Signature Draft beer specials, a live DJ, corn hole, jenga, and more from the time gates open until 6:30 p.m. before every Friday night home game. Fans can also participate in the Friday Night Beer Crawl, presented by Budweiser, which includes four unique Minute Maid Park locations with a different beer option at each location. Ballpark beer crawl starts when gates open and ends at the end of the 7th inning. Beer crawl locations will be listed on Astros.com/happyhour. Must be 21 years or older to participate. To cap off Big and Bright Friday Night, fans are invited to stay after the game for Friday Night Fireworks, presented by ConocoPhillips. This Friday’s fireworks will be synced to a “Favorite Houston Artists” soundtrack. Upon conclusion of Friday’s game and prior to the start of Friday Night Fireworks, fans will be asked to move from the following sections for their safety and enjoyment: Home Run Alley, Escalator Tower Stairs in Center Field, Budweiser Brew House Tiers, Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar, Torchy’s Deck, Crawford Boxes and sections 100-109, 205-208, 305-309, and 405-409. FANtastic Fridays makes its return this year. Each week, fans can stop by a predetermined location and win prizes or tickets and interact with the Astros Shooting Stars and Shuttle Crew. An exact location will be released via the Astros social media channels on Thursday, May 23.

Saturday, May 25 vs. Boston Red Sox 6:15 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to come out to Minute Maid Park before Saturday’s game to take part in the annual Bayou Bash Street Fest! The Cajun flair street fest will take place from 3:00pm - 6:00pm in the plaza, off of Crawford Street, and feature live music, tons of crawfish available for purchase, yard games, local Houston food trucks, face painters, inflatables and more. Fans must have a May 25 ticket in order to access the street fest.

Monday, May 27 vs. Chicago Cubs 1:10 p.m.

The Astros will celebrate Memorial Day at home this year with an interleague matinee game against the Cubs. In honor of Whataburger Appreciation Day, a special pregame ceremony will take place and will feature a giant flag display on the field, representatives from each military branch with their respective Branch star, and families of 10 fallen soldiers will be recognized. The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by a World War II veteran.
