Nationals recall Rafael Bautista and Adrian Sanchez

The Washington Nationals recalled outfielder Rafael Bautista and infielder Adrian Sanchez from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

The Washington Nationals recalled outfielder Rafael Bautista and infielder Adrian Sanchez from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday. Additionally, they optioned infielder/outfielder Matt Reynolds to Syracuse, and placed right-handed pitcher Shawn Kelley on the 10-day disabled list with an ulnar nerve injury. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcements.
Bautista, 25, joins the Nationals after being named International League Player of the Week on Monday. He hit .429 with two doubles, one triple, two RBI, three stolen bases and seven runs scored in 10 games for Triple-A Syracuse.
Sanchez, 27, joins the Nationals for his first Major League assignment of the season. He has hit .286 with four doubles, one home run, five RBI, five walks and seven runs scored in 14 games at Triple-A Syracuse.
Sanchez enjoyed two stints with Washington in 2017, appearing at second base (10 G), shortstop (8 G), and third base (7 G). He went 12-for-39 (.308) with six doubles and nine RBI in his final 11 MLB starts.
Reynolds, 27, had one hit, one walk, one RBI and one run scored in 12 appearances.
Kelley, 28, has pitched 6.0 innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits with nine strikeouts, across eight relief appearances.
