OAKLAND, Calif. -- To celebrate Sean Manaea's historic no-hitter, the Oakland A's will give away a Manaea bobblehead, presented by NBC Sports California, before the 7:05 p.m. game on Friday, Sept. 21, versus the Twins to begin A's Fan Appreciation Weekend.
Manaea tossed the seventh no-hitter in Oakland history and 12th no-hitter in Athletics history during the April 21 contest versus the Boston Red Sox. It was the first no-hitter for the A's since Dallas Braden's perfect game on May 9, 2010 versus Tampa Bay.
"We are incredibly proud of Manaea's historic outing on the mound," said A's President Dave Kaval. "Manaea cemented his name in the MLB history books, and we are excited to continue celebrating his performance with a bobblehead for our fans during A's Fan Appreciation Weekend."
During Manaea's next home start, slated for Tuesday, May 8, 2,500 fans will receive a cheer card with the line score from his no-hitter. Additionally, through the BART Rapid Deal Day promotion, fans can purchase Field Level tickets to the May 8 game and other select 2018 home games for $15.
