The Oakland A's will host their annual FanFest on Saturday, Jan. 26 in Jack London Square. The free event, presented by NBC Sports California, gives fans the opportunity to meet players and coaches ahead of the 2019 season. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will begin with a "Welcome Walk" featuring players, coaches, and alumni at 9:45 a.m. Fans are encouraged to line Water Street from Scott's Seafood to the main stage at the Ferry Lawn.
Twenty players, including Chris Bassitt, Ryan Buchter, Mark Canha, Jharel Cotton, Mike Fiers, Dustin Fowler, Sean Manaea, Nick Martini, Matt Olson, Chad Pinder, and Andrew Triggs, are scheduled to join FanFest. Fans will also have the chance to meet A's legends Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers, Bip Roberts, and Dave Stewart.
FanFest will include autograph and question-and-answer sessions throughout the day. The event will feature 10 free food trucks, giveaways, inflatable games, and a merchandise station. NBC Sports California, Francis Ford Coppola Winery, and StubHub will also have experiences for fans to enjoy at the event.
The Community Zone, located at Broadway and Embarcadero, will have activities for kids, including face painting and photos with Stomper and the Hall of Fame racers. Chevron will host a Science of Baseball Showcase featuring STEM exhibits and demonstrations. Fans can also purchase past giveaway items and A's memorabilia at the Community Zone yard sale benefiting the Oakland A's Community Fund.
Fans can learn about plans for the new ballpark at Howard Terminal and redevelopment of the Coliseum site at the Ballpark Experience Area, located along Water Street. Members of the ballpark design team will be on hand to answer questions and display renderings.
Fans can visit the A's Access booth at FanFest to join A's Access, which provides access to every regular season home game, 50 percent off concessions, and 25 percent off merchandise. Fans are encouraged to follow the A's on Twitter (@athletics) throughout the event for a chance to participate in a scavenger hunt for 2019 game tickets before they go on sale to the public on Feb. 5.
