Pirates roster moves

The Pittsburgh Pirates made the following roster moves today.

Right-handed pitcher Trevor Williams has been placed on the paternity list.

Right-handed pitcher Dario Agrazal has been recalled from Indianapolis to replace Trevor Williams.

Right-handed pitcher Dovydas Neverauskas has been optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Left-handed pitcher Steven Brault has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder strain.

Right-handed pitchers Montana DuRapau and Luis Escobar have been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.

DuRapau is in his third stint with the Pirates this season, where he has gone 0-1 with a 9.31 ERA (9.2ip/10er) in nine appearances (two starts). He has also gone 1-1 with seven saves, a 1.93 ERA (28.0ip/6er) and .121 batting average against in 24 appearances for Indianapolis, where he was named to the International League’s mid-season All-Star team. 

Escobar, who has no previous big league experience, was signed by the Pirates as a non-drafted free agent on July 8, 2013.

He began the 2019 campaign with Single-A Bradenton before being promoted to Triple-A Indianapolis on May 9. He has posted a 2-1 record with a 2.72 ERA (36.1ip/11er), 42 strikeouts and .212 batting average against in 13 appearances (five starts) at Triple-A this season.

Escobar also represented the Pirates organization at the 2017 All-Star Futures Game and was a member of Team Colombia in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. He will wear uniform #77.
