While the club has postponed its on-field celebration of the 40th anniversary of the 1980 World Champion Phillies until next year’s Toyota Alumni Weekend, fans will still see a few fun tributes to the Phillies legends throughout Sunday’s 1:05 p.m. game against the Atlanta Braves.

For starters, there will be some familiar faces in the crowd, as the entire 1980 World Champion roster will be in the stands as a Phillies game face. Replicated from their playing days, these high-resolution color cutouts of the former players will be attached to ballpark seats, joining the thousands of already-installed game faces of healthcare heroes, season ticketholders and fans. The legends will be shown during that day’s broadcast as the cameras pan the stands.

On the field, current players will pay homage by wearing their powder blue throwbacks, the signature uniform of the 1980 Phillies.

The broadcast will also feature an interview with Larry Bowa, All-Star shortstop from the 1980 Phillies, about what it was like being the first team in club history to win a World Series after defeating the Kansas City Royals in six games during that year’s Fall Classic.
