Major League Baseball today announced the Major League Umpires who have been assigned to the 2021 League Championship Series presented by loanDepot. Beginning tonight at Houston’s Minute Maid Park, the American League Championship Series will feature the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox, with exclusive live coverage on FOX tonight and FS1 during the series. The National League Championship Series, which will be covered exclusively by TBS beginning on Saturday, matches up the host Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bill Miller is the crew chief assigned to the ALCS, the eighth LCS of his 23-year Major League career. Miller’s ALCS crew includes Laz Diaz, Rob Drake, regular season crew chief Dan Iassogna, Alan Porter, David Rackley and Jim Wolf. Diaz, Porter and Wolf were on the field for the NL Wild Card Game earlier this Postseason. Jerry Meals will lead the crew on the NLCS in his third career LCS. The NLCS crew guided by Meals is comprised by Jordan Baker, Lance Barksdale, regular season crew chief Mark Carlson, Tripp Gibson, James Hoye and Todd Tichenor. Meals, Baker, Carlson and Hoye worked the AL Wild Card Game earlier this Postseason. 

Each of the seven umpires assigned to the LCS crews could receive one plate assignment during the series. Each umpire will be in reserve during the game prior to their scheduled plate duties. As examples, Drake will not be on the field in Game One of the ALCS, and Baker will not be on the field in Game One of the NLCS; both will then have the plate in Game Two of their respective series. Umpires Cory Blaser, Marvin Hudson and Nic Lentz will serve in Replay during the LCS.
