A’s-Mariners three-game series postponed

September 1st, 2020

OAKLAND, Calif. – The three-game series between the A’s and Mariners in Seattle originally scheduled for Sept. 1-3, has been postponed out of an abundance of caution to allow for continued testing and contact tracing. The first two games of the series were postponed by Major League Baseball yesterday.

The three-game series will be made up with a September 14 doubleheader in Seattle, and the single game that had been scheduled in Oakland for September 26 will now become a doubleheader.

On Sunday, the A's announced that a member of the organization tested positive for COVID-19. The team conducted testing and contact tracing for the entire traveling party in line with MLB protocols and will continue to follow the recommended safety precautions.

The A's and Major League Baseball will continue to provide updates as necessary.
